INDIANAPOLIS (January 16, 2008) – The Indianapolis 500® Pace Car always holds a special place at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.  GreenLight Collectibles will add to the Pace Car lore in 2008.  In 2008, the field of 33 will be lead by two very different Pace Cars from one very familiar automotive manufacturer.  GreenLight will produce the die-cast replicas of both General Motors vehicles – a Customized Chevrolet Corvette Z06 E85 Concept Pace Car and a 2008 C6 Corvette Convertible.

The Corvette Pace Cars will be making history at The 92^nd Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 25, 2008. It will be the Corvette's 10^th appearance as the Official Pace Car, a record never achieved by any other brand. The Corvettes will carry two very different messages – one will highlight Chevrolet's commitment to alternative fuel solutions and the other will mark 30 years of the Corvette's Pace Car heritage. 

The Z06 E85 Concept Pace Car will be driven by two time Indianapolis 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi.  Fittipaldi has been a long time advocate of E85 and has played a key role in ethanol projects in Brazil, where ethanol use has grown tremendously.  Fittipaldi’s commitment to ethanol makes him the perfect driver for the Z06 E85 Concept Pace Car.

The Corvette 30^th Anniversary Pace Car replica features a black exterior with silver graphics that honors the 1978 Corvette Pace Car.  The replica is a convertible with black interior. The E85 Corvette Pace Car is distinguished by a unique Gold Rush Green color with a subtle checkered flag pattern also part of the paint scheme. The replica also includes strobe lights on top with a black interior.

The 1:24 replicas, which will measure approximately 7.5 inches long, will be officially licensed by Chevrolet and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and will feature a die-cast metal body, authentic Pace Car detailing, real rubber tires, sequential numbering on the base and custom window box packaging.  The 1:64 replicas will measure approximately 3 inches long and will be available in single clamshell packaging or in 2-pack clamshell packaging.

The 1:24 and 1:64 scale 2008 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car replicas will be available in both the Customized Corvette Z06 E85 Concept Pace Car and the 2008 C6 Corvette Convertible.  The suggest retail price for 1:24 will be $30.00 and the suggest retail price for 1:64 will be $8.00 or $12.00 for the 2-pack.
