In the summer of 2008 GreenLight wanted to bring the popular art form of flame painting to its die-cast replicas. We enlisted the help of long time die-cast flame painter, Tim Phelps, best known for his book Up in Flames: The Art of Flame Painting (Motorbooks, 2006), put pencil to paper to create a variety of distinctly different cars that each feature a unique style of flames. His knowledge of the history and various styles of custom flame jobs is reflected in this series.
