INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – GreenLight Collectibles has a major announcement to share with our customers, partners, and collectors. We are thrilled to announce a change in company ownership that marks a new chapter in our journey toward even greater success and innovation in the die-cast arena.
GreenLight was purchased by Waltersons Industries Group at the end of 2022 and they have appointed Vincent Tang as the new President and CEO. He is a die-hard collector at heart and is bringing fresh perspectives, resources, and expertise to fuel our growth and take us to new heights. He is focused on gaining control over the production process and improving quality over manufacturing.
In addition, GreenLight Collectibles plans to acquire our own tooling shop and CAD development team, which will help us to enhance our casting accuracy and details. We will be recreating many American iconic vehicles with modern CAD & tooling techniques. Vincent and the rest of the GreenLight team will strive to deliver exceptional quality at an affordable price and maintain our competitive edge.
Vincent’s passion for cars started when he was just 9 years old. He began building plastic model kits and then collecting die-cast models. He has been focused on collecting 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 and 1:64 models over the last 30 years from all the major brands worldwide. Vincent’s enthusiasm for the industry leads him to possess an understanding of the collector’s desires and the necessary steps a brand should take to meet that demand.
“I see so much potential in GreenLight. It’s an awesome company,” Vincent said. “I think my business experience combined with my passion for die-cast will help the company grow to another level.”
Though Vincent was born and raised in Hong Kong, he has lived in Canada and the UK for decades and is well acquainted with western culture. He has received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Western University in Ontario, Canada and a Master’s degree in Investment Management at Cass Business School in London. He’s confident that his education will be a valuable asset to GreenLight.
This transition will have a positive impact on our commitment to delivering exceptional products and unparalleled customer experiences. We are excited about what the future holds and we are eager to exceed your expectations and continue to be your trusted die-cast brand. Your continued support, trust, and partnership are incredibly important to us, and we are genuinely grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

I’m a serious Collector too – since 1998.
On 1/64th scale –
Hope vehicle’s true proportional sizing is improved along with tire size & width.
I don’t buy greenlight because of this fact.
Good luck – Vincent Tang
Mr. Tang, welcome to the wonderful world of greenlight. I have worked with GL before on Boone County Mo vehicles and have more ideas if you would like to hear them. Hope there are more great things to come from GL.
CONGRATS!!! I look forward to your tenure and exciting future. I am a former Ferrari and Rolls Royce Quality Control and road tester. (its been years) Currently Chief of Staff and Project manager of an IT company in VA. I am also a diecast collector of all scales. I notice companies that put out beautiful products but the quality absolutely sucks. GL has made better and a more rock solid product than these over priced resin poured china cabinet shelf queens. I am grateful for Green Light and look forward to seeing and purchasing more cars in the near future.
congratulations and hoping to a continued parternship as your distributors in el salvador. best wishes and success my friend. regards, ing. juan diaz colocho, diaz colocho hermanos
Comment *Welcome Mr. Vincent. I hope you and your team can improve on a 1:64 scale. start the ugly, swinging casting, chassis, and spinning wheels. Thank You. The Asian market awaits your future business breakthrough. Success and God bless you.
First off congratulations to Vincent Tang on his position as CEO I hope all goes well and the company thrives. I also love building models and love mixing parts from one car to another even mixing military weapons parts with cars kind of like mad max or twisted metal.
I hope for big things from Greenlight . I think you’re offering decent value to us collectors 👍
I’m excited for yeah. Cheers to years of fun great ideas and laughs on your journey. Hope to see more ford f series pickup model years and options like extended cabs, regular cabs. 80=86 hint hind hehe. I like your 67=72 fords but on the long box body’s the positioning of the rear axle just seem a bit off on location. Anyways I’m excited for your journey. Valued customer to greenlight
Congratulations hope you guys keep up the work and continue to get better at quality and new creations. I enjoyed autoworld and m2 machines in their diecast but they get old and do not continue to reinvent vehicles. Greenlight produces things all over I enjoy a lot of vehicles. Your lowrider line would be nice if they had a posable suspension. Your new grease cars look great with the exception of the hells chariot not having the spiked hub caps. I wish you would make the corvette summer corvette but time will tell keep up the good work and keep everyone guessing on what’s next.
Welcome Mr. Tang to Greenlight! I only have one request. Please put back the driver figures in your 1/18 Indy Car series. I have not bought any Greenlight cars since you took out the driver figure except for the special edition Indy 500 winners that only the Speedway sells with the driver figure. Thanks for you consideration on this matter.
Congratulations Vincent
I’m an avid collector of 1/43 scale diecast Police cars At least 600.So do a little conversions
FRR made light bars for modellers
Will you do the same please
Thank you
Graham

Graham
Welcome aboard Mr Tang, I’m a big fan of greenlights diecast emergency vehicles, and I’m an avid collector of greenlights 1/64 scale and would be honored if I can throw some suggestions on future models please reach out and send me a feedback if interested
Welcome aboard Mr. Tang and best wishes. Here’s a suggestion for us bus lovers, and collectors. Could you also bring Prevost buses alive especially the entertainment ones. Thank you.
From all of us in here Code Nine UK Ltd Distributor in the UK, wish you for great a career with Greenlight
Mr. Tang: Welcome, to Greenlight, from a 1:18, 1:24 guy, in British Columbia!
As a creator of a 1/64 scale Cadillac dealership diorama. I hope you’ll make the 1976 Cadillac Seville, 1977-1979 Cadillac DeVille & the 1979 Cadillac El Dorado. Otherwise I love your 1972 & 1973 DeVilles
I am also hoping that Greenlight Collectibles would also make a 1976-79 Cadillac Seville as well. I had lobbied heavily for this version because many if not all of the diecast toy manufacturers rudely ignored this model.
Welcome Welcome. Thanks in advance for what you have in store for us collectors in the future.
I like 1/64 hitch & tow, they are way cool hard to find though. thanks
Be the first to produce the well overlooked Chrysler LH cars. I’d kill for a ’99 300M and an LHS in 1/64 scale.
Your Chevy Super Service tow in 1/18 scale is fantastic. Please consider this in 1/64 scale.
Hello… I am an avid collector of Greenlight cars. Out searching for new ones every week. Please consider putting production numbers on certain cars, especially the Green Machines. Knowing how many are made of a certain car really brings out the collectibility and how special it really is. I have some Mijo Greenlight exclusives that have production numbers on them. Let’s see more of that.
Thank you
I don’t come to the Greenlight website often as it isn’t updated on a timely basis (and I absolutely hate social media). I only discovered this news months after the announcement, was concerned when I read the headline, but feel rather upbeat and confident of the direction of Greenlight under new ownership and the guiding hand of Vincent Tang. Being a Motorhead is an international language, and Mr. Tang’s background certainly sounds promising with the various cultural exposure throughout his life, and apparently being a collector himself. Greenlight has a tremendous amount of potential in this hugely popular hobby. The elements that the new ownership brings (greater control over design and engineering) should address my irritations of too many defective products reaching the market, and something worse: great models undermined by some inaccurate proportions and/or details. I am very excited for Greenlight and Vincent Tang. Hopefulyl, this will be a dream job come true for him, and a dream come true for collectors! A total win / win situation! Ain’t life beautiful!
Congratulations Vincent, I hope someday to see a 1/43 Greenlight version of the Spaceballs Eagle 5 Winnebago Chieftain.
Good Luck Vincent. I hope the Greenlight brand will continue to be Headquartered in Indianapolis. I used to see the Greenlight real full size Armored Car daily at the former 74th Street location when I passed it at the on the way to work. I like hearing about the new modern CAD/CAM Manufacturing techniques. I am a Certified American Society of Quality Inspector and use multiple Mitutoyo CMM Machines to Inspect components manufactured by my employer. I have several Greenlight 1/64th vehicles and would love a Silver 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE CREW CAB 4×4 Pickup in 1/64th scale.
Welcome please make 1/64th replacement parts available such as interceptor wheels for the police and emergency services modelers.
